Every time Theatre Day gathers more than 1,000 members from various types – adult, children, youth, and puppet – amateur theatre groups; they rehearse their performances knowing the theme in advance. Every theatre group’s act is original, more often than not including impressive costumes and scenography.

Theatre Day “On the Steps of Being” will embody the mechanism of the eternal wheel continuously circling around, and thus it will encourage to search for the Being through theatre. Theatre enthusiasts will aim to include the audience into a meaningful manifesto by saying that everything, once valued at the art of theatre, is not only remembered, but also refined. The participants of the Theatre Day respect and carry on the traditions of the living theatre as well as appreciate and represent the national dramaturgy as an integral string in the common fabric of people, nature and art.

Theatre Day program, which will take place at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, will consist of a living theatre museum in the courtyard, living expositions inside the halls, performances in the surroundings, and the final act at the courtyard.
